Thanks so much for considering me for the honor of creating beautiful photos for your family. It is my hope that together we craft not only awesome memories, but gorgeous, timeless images as well.
My style is photo journalistic, I love capturing families playing, snuggling, being goofy, and just loving on each other. I will always do my best to get that one desired shot of everyone looking and smiling at me, but will for the most part, be giving piggyback rides to your kids, encouraging dads to show off their kid-flipping skills, having little ones give moms their BEST hugs EVER, and fun stuff like that.
Amber Denise Photography has a client closet available to clients. The closet is full of variety to choose from. Our gowns are long and flowy to compliment any shape and size. Sized range from small-X-Large. A week or two before the session, you are able to come to the studio to try and pick a dress out.
The days of everyone wearing one same color in photos is long gone. COORDINATING IS KEY NOW.
Start with one person's outfit + build around that. Choose colors and patterns that complement each other. As you think about your color palette, imagine your family as one complete piece of artwork. Each outfit will bring together the entire piece. Instead of everyone wearing the same shade of blue - think about what accent colors/tones might complement said blue
Probably one of the easiest ways to take your session for "meh" to "WOW" is to add layers.
Think button ups with a sweater or blazer on top. Add a textured knit cardigan for some depth. For little girls, think tights or cute knee highs with a twirling skirt or dress. And don't forget to add details... a nice hat or headband can add the perfect touch
The most overlooked clothing in session styling is SHOES!
Your shoes will definitely be seen, so leave the scuffed tennies, crocs, and old flip-flops at home.
Instead, opt for a clean converse style tennis shoe, nice dress shoe, or even a boot.
Hair and Make-up services are added to any session for an additional fee
My professional hair + make-up artists are waiting to totally spoil you as prepare for your photo session. If you are interested, please let me know and I will gladly connect you with my amazing glam squad

Preparing your kids for our session as much as possible often takes the timidness out of the evening. Please make sure kids know that this is FUN! My sessions are no stress, My goal isn't to get a picture of your child "being good" or just "smiling" but having fun and interacting. Some kids who have been coached to smile for the photographer get so nervous that they are fighting laughing and relaxing because they are so worried about having their picture taken or making their parents happy!
Instead, I'm a huge fan of bribery - (ice cream after!) is always a great idea for the ones who need a little extra encouragement. However, please don't bring sweets for bribing during the shoot. They tend to end up being a distraction.
Moms, I'm speaking to you... Is your husband feeling less than thrilled about your upcoming photo shoot? A little bribery seems to work well here (though maybe something better than ice cream!) as well!
Helping your spouse pick out a coordinating outfit that they feel comfortable in is one way to help them relax and enjoy their time at the session
Remind your husband, that the shoot will be relatively painless and to try to focus on having an hour to play with the kids, hold your hand and just savor these moments that are so quickly passing by
You always want to take the weather into consideration when planning your outfits. Comfortable kids = happy kids and happy kids = happy sessions!
For cooler weather, choose pieces you can layer like cardigans or sweaters. For girls, tights are an easy way to adjust a cute outfit for the cold. Even a cute beanie on the kids helps little ears warm.
For warmer weather, choose pieces in light breathable fabrics. For the ladies, think flowy pieces like maxi dresses or sun dress.
The more you feel comfortable in your clothes the more you will be able to simply enjoy your session with your family.
Yes absolutely! We have partnered up with an amazing hair stylist and makeup artist. Their services can be added on to any of my sessions for an additional fee.
They will come to your location before the session and completely pamper you! I highly recommend adding them to your session, so you can worry about one less thing for your session!
If it still is scheduled to rain the day of, due to equipment being so pricey and fragile, I do not risk the chance of it getting wet. There will be no reschedule fee due to the weather. :)
In order to get those creamy, dreamy backgrounds and soft, beautiful skin tones, I prefer to schedule sessions the last two hours before sunset. This is called the "Golden Hour" where all that magic happens! But if you're an early bird, we can do a sunrise session!
After your session, we will usually do a sneak peek after a day or two. We are never that patient enough to fully edit the gallery without sharing some of our favorite on social media. Most of our portrait unedited galleries are sent within 48 hours and final galleries are 3-4 weeks. But during our busy season it could take longer.
I sure do! My Boutique Print Shop which is filled with hand-picked items from albums and wall art, to notecards, and print sets, You can pick the perfect ways to display your beautiful images throughout your home.
Oh my goodness, please do! I love photographing families with their sweet furbaby! My only advice if you do so is to bring an extra hand along to hold the leash, so you don't feel like you have to leave him/her in the car while we finish out the session. I usually like to do those images first.
Just as important as the weather is that everyone being photographed be feeling 100%. There isn't anything worse than an unhappy and sick feeling child - they especially do not want to be in front of a camera.
At the first sign that your kids aren't well, please give me a call.
If your little one has a favorite lovie they want to bring, such as a blanket or stuffed animal, let them bring it. I will incorporate a few shots at the end of your session with it to capture this sweet time in their childhood.
